Parts and what they mean

• Arm AD: R₁ (भुजा AD: R₁) — Current I₁ (= I₃ when balanced).
• Arm AB: R₂ (भुजा AB: R₂) — Current I₂ (= I₄ when balanced).
• Arm DC: R₃ (भुजा DC: R₃) — Varied until the galvanometer reads zero.
• Arm BC: R₄ (unknown) (भुजा BC: R₄ (अज्ञात)) — At balance R₄ = R₃ (R₂/R₁).
• Galvanometer (arm BD) (गैल्वेनोमीटर (भुजा BD)) — Detects current. No deflection means B and D are at the same potential.
• Battery (arm AC) (बैटरी (भुजा AC)) — Connected across A and C (battery arm).
