Parts and what they mean
- Source charge Q (स्रोत आवेश Q) — Fixed charge that creates the field.
- Test charge q (परीक्षण आवेश q) — A small positive charge moved slowly, so it gains no kinetic energy.
- Electric force on q (q पर विद्युत बल) — Repulsion from Q, pointing away from Q.
- External force (बाह्य बल) — Equal and opposite to the electric force; this force does the work that is stored as potential energy.
- Point P (बिंदु P) — Final position, nearer to Q: higher potential.
- Point R (बिंदु R) — Starting position, farther from Q.
- Path of the test charge (परीक्षण आवेश का पथ) — Any path gives the same work, because the electrostatic force is conservative.
