Parts and what they mean
- AC source (ac स्रोत) — Gives v = vm sin ωt; vm is the peak (amplitude) and ω the angular frequency.
- Resistor R (प्रतिरोधक R) — Ohm’s law works for ac too: i = v/R at every instant, so im = vm/R.
- Current i (धारा i) — Its direction reverses every half cycle; average current over a cycle is zero.
- Voltage v = vm sin ωt (वोल्टता v = vm sin ωt) — Red curve: source voltage, peak vm.
- Current i = im sin ωt (धारा i = im sin ωt) — Blue curve: current, peak im = vm/R. Same phase as v.
- In phase (समान कला में) — v and i reach zero, maximum and minimum at the same instants — phase difference 0.
- Time axis (ωt) (समय अक्ष (ωt)) — One full cycle is ωt = 2π, i.e. time T = 2π/ω.
