Parts and what they mean

• Square sheet, side 18 cm (वर्गाकार चादर, भुजा 18 cm) — The tin sheet of Exercise 6.3, Q17.
• Corner square x \times x (कोने का वर्ग x \times x) — Cut off from each corner; x becomes the height of the box (0 < x < 9).
• Base (18 - 2x) \times (18 - 2x) (आधार (18 - 2x) \times (18 - 2x)) — So V(x) = x(18 - 2x)^2; V'(x) = 12(x - 3)(x - 9) = 0 gives x = 3, V = 432 cm³.
• Fold lines (मोड़ने की रेखाएँ) — The four flaps fold up along these lines to make the walls.
