Parts and what they mean
- Set P = {5, 6, 7} — domain (समुच्चय P = {5, 6, 7} — प्रांत) — The first elements of the pairs. Here every element of P has an arrow, so the domain is all of P.
- Set Q = {3, 4, 5} — codomain (समुच्चय Q = {3, 4, 5} — सहप्रांत) — The set the arrows go into. The range is the set of elements actually hit by arrows (here also {3, 4, 5}).
- Rule y = x − 2 (नियम y = x − 2) — Each arrow is one ordered pair: R = {(5, 3), (6, 4), (7, 5)}. Each x has exactly one arrow, so R is also a function.
