Parts and their functions

• Metacentric (मध्यकेंद्री) — Centromere in the middle — two equal arms.
• Sub-metacentric (उपमध्यकेंद्री) — Centromere slightly away from the middle — one shorter and one longer arm.
• Acrocentric (अग्रबिंदु) — Centromere close to an end — one extremely short and one very long arm.
• Telocentric (अंतकेंद्री) — Centromere at the terminal end.
